Our Story
Alvaro Care began in 1996 with the opening of our first care home in Sheffield — a residential care home built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued and at home. From day one, we set out to create an environment where residents received not just excellent care, but genuine companionship and respect.
As families increasingly asked us to support their loved ones at home, we expanded into home care services across South Yorkshire — bringing the same person-centred approach into people's own living rooms, kitchens and gardens. This natural growth reflected what we'd always known: that great care isn't defined by a building, but by the people who deliver it.
We then opened Meadowbrook Care Home in Garforth, Leeds, extending our residential care into West Yorkshire and serving even more families with the warmth and professionalism that had become our hallmark.
Today, our live-in care services reach families across most of the UK, providing flexible, personalised support that allows individuals to remain independent in their own homes. Whether through our award-winning care homes or our dedicated home care and live-in care teams, our commitment remains the same: to help every individual feel safe, valued and supported — on their terms, in their space, and at their pace.
